Refresh on places to learn about jobs, business, and opportunities in central Indiana

This is a refresh on some local Indy groups that are great places to connect.

I have talked with many people over last several months and they were interested in the job outlook with in central Indiana. Here are some connectors to help people explore, discover, and learn more.


  • For Entrepreneurs By Entrepreneurs (FEBE) is a group of Indiana-based technology company founders/partners, academic professors, and friends of start-ups (MBA Entrepreneurship Graduates and Social Media Experts).

  • Rainmakers (http://www.gorainmakers.com/rainmakers/) is great place just to mix and meet people. Talk to Lorraine Ball and she will take you to a meeting as her guest. Rainmakers is a business networking organization that provides a platform for Indiana business professionals to be more and serve more.

  • Smaller Indiana (http://www.smallerindiana.com/) makes creative people and innovative ideas easier to find. There are several sub groups that have formed in Smaller Indiana, there is at least one that will interest you.

  • Indiana Health Industry Forum (http://www.ihif.org/). They sponsor a life sciences lunch at Barnes & Thornburg downtown plus other events through out the year (http://www.btlaw.com/SubSection.asp?SubSection=Events&Section=News+%26+Events).

  • Tech Point (http://www.techpoint.org/) has several events throughout the year, several on a monthly basis. Focused on technology.

  • Indiana Biomedical Entrepreneur Network (IBEN, http://www.indianabionetwork.org/). This group meets monthly and its focus is on enabling entrepreneurship in lifesciences and medicine throughout Indiana.

  • Women & Hi Tech (http://www.womenandhitech.org/) serves to engage, educate, and energize women in science, engineering, and technology.

  • Finally, there are two sources of information and news to help you get a sense of what is happening in business within central Indiana; The Indinapolis Business Journal (http://www.ibj.com/) and Inside Indiana (http://www.insideindianabusiness.com/).
