Ryan Baird, Andrew Talarzyk, and Amir Durakovic - Failure by Design, Indiana University School of Informatics Capstone Presentation, Apr 30, 2010, at IUPUI.
ChaCha presentation to IU School of Informatics students in Oct 2008. ChaCha presents their history and what they see as the opportunity for human powered search.
Chat with Chauncey Frend (BS `08). In this short chat, Chauncey talks about his immersive environment (lights, camera, action, smell!) and what he plans to do after graduating.
Chat with Jennette Fulda (BS `03). Jennette talks about her early intro to journalism (5th grade newsletter), getting through journalisim requirement for IU degree, and on campus during September 11th watching the news. Jennette is also the author of Half-Assed: A Weight-loss Memoir and blogs regularly at PastaQueen (http://www.pastaqueen.com/ ). Her approach to the book was very much in the spirit of informatics: she took pictures of herself at eight different angles at different weights and put them in flash objects so she could show her progress (multiple pictures here. Try to get all of them to spin!).
BoI 0017 Chat with Tristian Schmid (MS `06). We chat about IU Bloomington versus IUPUI Indianapolis, creating promo DVD and group project coordination, his Surround Sound capstone presentation, meeting his wife in ball room dancing class, and creating Angie’s List Podcast ‘List-en up!’.
BoI 0016 Chat with Neal Moore (MS `04). We chat about Microsoft versus Apple, the word ‘informtics’ or ‘informatica’, and his trip to St. Louis to pick up his 1958 Philco TV.
BoI 0014 Chat with Gary Shoulders (BS `07). We chat about hard java programs, math, riding on the Little 500 Rainbow Cycling team, and participating in the iCycle project using RFID tags to track bikers as part of an Informatics Capstone Project.
